Exposure can be controlled via social separation and distancing as we all know. But, if exposed how do we prevent SEVERITY?
Maintain room humidity to 40-60% to protect out throat moisture. Also, prevent mouth-breathing via position (not on back), side or face down better. If developed shortness of breath, sleep sitting up and move around if possible. Use a humidifier and keep room temp in 60s F. To avoid the vacuum negative pressure buildup in the lungs from undiagnosed sleep apnea, use position, jaw closure, nose opening devices or even CPAP for sleep apnea. Get plenty of sleep and outdoor exercise and a good diet.
